New world game
Giancarlo Stanton wants a World Series ring, and he’s doing everything he can to drag the Yankees across the finish line. The ALCS MVP hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead aussieplay casino. The Dodgers let Jack Flaherty go through the middle of the lineup a third time, then Soto singled and Stanton hit an absolute moonshot. Look at this blast:
Cortes has one job in this World Series. He’s expected to somehow slow down Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers lefties. Manager Aaron Boone turned to Cortes instead of fellow lefty Tim Hill, who was also warm in the bullpen. Cortes got Ohtani on a first-pitch fly ball that Alex Verdugo tracked down in foul territory. But Cortes’ first offering to Freeman came in lower than he wanted, and Freeman didn’t miss it. You can bet Boone will make a different call to the bullpen if the same situation arises again.
“This trophy is what makes you go through the grind every day,” Freeman said after the game. “When you step in Spring Training in February, your eyes are on that. You do everything you can, that’s what’s worth it for me. I got here at 10:30 in the morning, got treatment and made it just in time for the hitter’s meeting. I’ll start it all over tomorrow because winning a World Series is everything.”
What is the best game in the world
I believe the defining characteristic that draws people to World of Warcraft is the freedom to play the game as you see fit. Like grouping with friends? The game gives you the ability to start with a crew and play through the entire game together, regardless of race or class. Want to make a go at it solo? Then take on quests alone. The higher level dungeons and raids demand teamwork, but with its stellar Looking for Group system, finding people to tackle a hard boss has never been easier. It’s always worth mentioning the warring factions of the alliance and horde. While choosing a faction seems a tad more meaningless than it used to, mainly because the factions basically are tasked with the same things, the old days of Crossroads and Tarren Mill are memories some players will have forever. – Mark Medina (Read Our Review)

Although its lofty concepts can be tough for adults to grasp, Minecraft strikes a chord with younger players, whose unbridled imagination requires less “unlearning” of how a game should work in exchange for the freedom to do as they please. Played across many different servers each with their own specific purpose, it can be anything — from a brick-building puzzle kit to a full-on character roleplay space. Moving over 300 million copies with as many as 200 million active users per month in 2024, it is both the highest-selling game of all time and one of the most engaged with pieces of media on the planet every day. -H.M.
Arriving well before the proliferation of touchscreen gaming and virtual-reality headsets for consumers, the departure from exclusively button-based inputs initially raised eyebrows. But, with its intuitive design and stripped-down aesthetics, Wii Sports helped sell audiences of Nintendo’s vision for the future of the industry.
League of Legends’ cultural impact can’t be overstated. The gargantuan success from developer Riot Games is genre-defining, the biggest esport in the world, and a revenue-generating machine thanks to its live-service leanings and deep pool of champions and skins. League of Legends is a MOBA game that places players in a 5v5 battle to destroy the enemy Nexus, with different roles assigned to players based on their champions’ strengths.
I still think about three moments in The Last of Us at least once a week. The first is when Joel’s life changes in a moment in the game’s intro. The second moment arrived late into the game and demanded I make a certain gameplay choice because that’s how Joel would act, even if it wasn’t what I wanted to do. That dissonance struck me, but made so much sense. This was Joel and Ellie’s story I was experiencing, and those characters feel so real thanks to the script, animation, and Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson’s stellar performances. The Last of Us marries its storytelling with its gameplay, and nothing made me feel more than that last moment. The game’s final discussion between its two protagonists is filled with so much emotional weight because of their experience – because of what you experienced – that it’s difficult to think of another ending so perfectly true to this unforgettable experience. – Jonathon Dornbush (Read Our Review)
Game 5 world series 2024
Bottom of the sixth: Facing Dodgers reliever Brusdar Graterol, Juan Soto drew his third walk of the game. Graterol then walked Aaron Judge, prompting a mound visit. Jazz Chisholm grounded into a force out at second base, putting runners on the corners.
Treinen had already thrown 37 pitches, his most since throwing 39 in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Padres. The Dodgers had already used all of their leverage relievers and Buehler, on his day to throw a side session, was Roberts’ last resort.
Gerrit Cole was excellent over 6.2 innings, but some poor defense from the Yankees — including Cole himself — led to five unearned runs in the fifth. The Dodgers then took the lead for good in the eighth and got a stunning performance from their bullpen, especially Blake Treinen and Walker Buehler, to close it out.
9:40 p.m. — THE DODGERS GET ON THE BOARD. Cole redeems himself with back to back strikeouts to Lux and Ohtani, catching them both swinging. Then, Betts singles on a ground ball to first, where Rizzo fields it and somehow can’t make it back in time, eliciting frustration from his teammates.
Game 3 world series
Stanton was New York’s most productive offensive player, going 2-for-4, but the Yankees couldn’t capitalize on any of their scoring chances until Alex Verdugo hit a two-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. That was all New York would score as the late rally fell short.

Jazz Chisholm Jr., batting behind Stanton, lined a ball to right field that looked as if it would fall in to give the Yankees runners on the corners with one out, but six-time Gold Glover Mookie Betts made a sliding catch, robbing Chisholm and sending Stanton back to second base.
Going into Game 3, the biggest question was Shohei Ohtani, specifically his left shoulder. He partially dislocated it on a slide in Game 2 and favored it throughout Game 3 — Ohtani held his jersey while running the bases as a makeshift sling — but did play, and drew a four-pitch walk to lead off the game. There’s no reason to think the presumptive NL MVP will miss Game 4 on Tuesday.
New York will need better performances from its batters, as Soto led the way but didn’t get enough help. Giancarlo Stanton notably went 1-for-4 at the plate while Aaron Judge’s postseason woes continued, going 0-for-4.
